Hydrophones

The icListen range offers the world’s first smart digital hydrophones, enabling real-time processing, streaming, and recording of acoustic data without the need for additional pre-amps, filters, converters, or datalinks. The compact self-contained units are fully calibrated and can be used for real-time listening and event detection, as an acoustic recorder, or both simultaneously.

icListen hydrophones feature ultra-low noise and a wide dynamic range for high-quality data and long-term stability. Multiple units can be synchronized to create a simplified and convenient multi-channel array.

Software

Lucy II

Lucy II is an advanced acoustic processing software package designed for use with our icListen hydrophones. It allows users to locate and setup one or an array of hydrophones, and stream, record, and analyze data. The versatile and intuitive software can present data both graphically and numerically, and is optimized for easy reading during complex field operations.

Marco

Marco software is used to locate and check the status of all icListen hydrophones on the network. It can be used on any laptop or PC to launch the built-in web server on icListens or other instruments. The software is included with all icListen purchases.

Talk Assistant

Talk Assistant software program is used to set up our icTalk HF Smart Projector. Users can set up sound patterns such as clicks, tones and sweeps. The software is included with all icTalk purchases.

PAMGuard Plug-In

The PAMGuard Plug-In allows icListen hydrophones to be used with the industry-standard PAMGuard software for the detection, classification, and localization of marine mammals. With this plug-in, icListen units can stream data in real time for detection and measurement of animal sounds.

icListen Listening Kit

The icListen Listening Kit provides everything you need to start deploying our icListen hydrophones and begin shallow and deep-water recording for accurate and reliable acoustic data. The kit includes an icListen hydrophone, a Launch Box, cable, guard, and Lucy II processing software.

Acoustic Buoy Listening Kit

The Acoustic Buoy Listening Kit is a complete solution for easy monitoring of underwater radiated noise, marine mammals, and construction noise. The kit includes an icListen hydrophone, an acoustic buoy, cable, in-line hydrophone guard, and Lucy II processing software.

Fyrefin Tow Body Kit

The Fyrefin is a tow body that allows users to isolate the hydrophone recording from ambient noise made by the towing vessel, resulting in cleaner and more accurate data. This kit includes an icListen hydrophone, the Fyrefin, a Launch Box, cable and grips, guard, and Lucy II processing software.

Shallow Water Tripod Kit

The Shallow Water Tripod Kit allows easy and convenient deployment of an autonomous hydrophone array, ensuring high-accuracy sound localization, tracking, and detection. Hydrophone separation can be adjusted up to one meter. The kit includes four icListen hydrophones, the tripod, a battery pack, cable and guards, and Lucy II processing software.

Accessories

We have designed, manufactured and thoroughly tested a comprehensive range of accessories that complement and extend the capabilities of our icListen smart hydrophones.

• icTalk Smart Projector – calibrated acoustic projector that produces a range of tones, sweeps and clicks from 10 to 200 kHz
• Battery Pack – extend the deployment time of icListen hydrophones to 45 (with alkaline batteries) or 135 (with lithium batteries) continuous days
• Rechargeable Battery Pack – compact 100 Wh unit that extends the deployment time of a single icListen hydrophone to two days
• Acoustic Buoy – enables drifting or moored deployments with one or more hydrophones, and allows data to be sent via Wi-Fi to PCs and mobile devices
• Launch Box – removes cable connection between mobile devices and an icListen hydrophone, sending data via Wi-Fi and recording GPS position
• GPS Time Synchronization – synchronizes hydrophones with time from GPS data, and can also be used for GPS positioning
• Hydrophone Mini Multiplexer – create arrays via Ethernet, with up to two hydrophones connected per unit
• Hydrophone Multiplexer – create arrays via Ethernet, with up to six hydrophones connected per unit
• Smart Cable – synchronize up to four icListen hydrophones through Ethernet using a single cable
