AXO®305 Accelerometer

The AXO®305 is a single-axis closed-loop digital MEMS accelerometer in a compact and lightweight hermetically-sealed ceramic SMD package. With a footprint of just 12x12 mm and extremely low noise, it provides a performance-equivalent alternative to costlier quartz and mechanical accelerometers with a significantly smaller footprint, and provides stable and reliable performance under a wide range of conditions.

The versatile device provides a 24-bit SPI interface for easy integration into electronic designs, and features built-in temperature compensation for precise output under the entire temperature range. The unit's self-test capability enables verification of sensor operation without needing to remove it from the system.

With excellent bias and scale factor repeatability characteristics, it is ideally suited for incorporation into MRUs (motion reference units) and VRUs (vertical reference units) for vessel motion control and dynamic positioning, as well as inertial systems for AUV and ROV navigation.
