MostaTech is set to unveil its latest advancements in Fiber Optic Gyroscope (FOG) technology at IEEE INERTIAL 2025, taking place from May 5-7 in Lindau, Germany.
The company will showcase its miniature FOGs and FOG-based Inertial Measurement Units (FOG IMUs), including the next-generation compact G321M with high-speed data output and the enhanced shock-resistant VG2103S-3000.
G321M: High-Performance Three-Axis Fiber Optic Gyroscope
The G321M is a state-of-the-art three-axis FOG engineered to meet the demand for compact, high-performance inertial sensing solutions. Measuring just 53 x 53 x 36mm, it boasts an impressive 8kHz data output rate. The system integrates three single-axis FOGs with a fully developed three-channel ADC board, interfacing via RS422. Key performance metrics include a remarkable bias stability of 1°/h and an angular random walk (ARW) of 0.025°/√h. The gyroscope is also fortified with advanced magnetic shielding, ensuring reliable operation in electromagnetically challenging environments. Despite its robust capabilities, the G321M maintains a lightweight design at 145 grams and operates with a low power consumption of just 2W.
VG2103S-3000: Enhanced Durability and Precision
The VG2103S-3000 is a next-generation fiber optic gyroscope designed to withstand extreme conditions. Featuring an upgraded shock resistance of up to 3000g and a vibration endurance of 18g, it is built for demanding applications. This model delivers an ARW of 0.03°/√h and bias stability of 1°/h. Encased in a durable aluminum alloy housing with four secure mounting flanges, the VG2103S-3000 ensures stability and precision even in high-vibration environments.
VG221: Industry-Leading Miniaturization and Efficiency
The VG221 sets new industry standards for size, weight, and power efficiency. With an ultra-compact design of ∅33x12mm and a mere 15 grams in weight, it is the smallest and lightest fiber optic gyroscope available. Consuming just 0.3W, it offers a balance of energy efficiency and performance. The VG221 features an ARW of 0.05°/√h and a bias stability of 1°/h, making it an optimal choice for applications requiring minimal SWaP (size, weight, and power) parameters.
U121D & U123D: SWaP-Optimized FOG IMUs
MostaTech’s compact FOG-based IMUs integrate its smallest fiber optic gyros with MEMS accelerometers to deliver high precision and efficiency. Both the U121D and U123D models provide an ARW of 0.05°/√h and a bias stability of 1°/h. Their MEMS accelerometers feature a 10g range, 0.2mg bias stability, and a 250Hz bandwidth. These IMUs maintain low power consumption at just 1.5W and transmit data through an RS422 interface.
U121D: Measures 63x56mm and weighs 180 grams, featuring internal magnetic shielding that provides high immunity of 0.3°/h/Gauss.
U123D: With a cylindrical form factor (∅40 x 90mm) and a weight of 150 grams, it offers dual-level magnetic immunity (0.3°/h/Gauss and 0.01°/h/Gauss), ensuring stable operation in high-magnetic-field environments.
Advanced Solutions for Navigation and Stabilization
MostaTech’s inertial sensors are engineered for applications where low SWaP and cost-effectiveness are critical. These non-ITAR solutions are ideal for integration into inertial navigation systems (INS) used in UAVs, UUVs, USVs, ROVs, as well as gimbal and camera stabilization systems. By offering industry-leading performance in compact, lightweight, and power-efficient designs, MostaTech continues to push the boundaries of fiber optic gyroscope technology.
