With support for over 80 radar models, its software and hardware solutions are deployed in more than 50 countries worldwide, delivering critical capabilities for vessel tracking, collision avoidance, coastal security, and USV sensor processing. Across our platforms, OST has been helping Cambridge Pixel showcase how these innovative technologies can be utilised in a range of marine sectors.

Enhancing Maritime Surveillance & Security

Cambridge Pixel’s technology is widely adopted for maritime surveillance applications, including vessel traffic monitoring, border protection, and search and rescue operations. Its radar, camera, and sensor processing solutions support open-standard protocols such as ASTERIX and NMEA-0183, ensuring compatibility with a broad range of maritime systems.

The company recently partnered with Sirius Insight to develop an AI-powered maritime situational awareness platform. By integrating Cambridge Pixel’s radar tracking software, Sirius Insight successfully enhanced coastal surveillance, allowing seamless receipt and processing of radar data from onboard vessel radars.

Offshore & Naval Defense Applications

For offshore security, Cambridge Pixel provides modular software for asset protection, offering automatic threat detection, real-time tracking, and control of deterrent devices such as long-range acoustic devices (LRADs) and laser dazzlers. These solutions help safeguard critical infrastructure, including oil, gas, and offshore wind platforms.

In naval and defense applications, Cambridge Pixel’s field-proven solutions have been integrated into over 100 military vessels, trusted by defense primes such as BAE Systems and Lockheed Martin. Supporting military standards like RADDS and SAPIENT, its technology enhances mission-critical radar and sensor processing for crewed and uncrewed systems.

Advanced Capabilities for USVs & ASVs

Cambridge Pixel provides essential capabilities for uncrewed and autonomous surface vessel (USV/ASV) developers, enabling navigation, collision avoidance, mothership communication, and target recognition. Its USV Toolkit integrates seamlessly with existing sensor networks to enhance operational efficiency and situational awareness.

SPx Server: Real-Time Radar Data Processing & Target Tracking

SPx Server is a powerful software suite for radar data extraction, target tracking, and network distribution. It processes primary or IFF radar video, maintains an active track database, and distributes track reports in SPx, ASTERIX, or NMEA-0183 formats, ensuring seamless integration with maritime surveillance and navigation systems.

SPx Fusion Server: Multi-Sensor Data Correlation

SPx Fusion Server merges data from multiple sensors, including radar, AIS, IFF, and ADS-B, into a single correlated data stream. The software assigns priority levels to sensors based on accuracy, eliminates duplicate reports, and facilitates sensor handovers in geographically overlapping areas. It is available as a standalone solution or as a software library for C2 system integration.

HPx-346: Compact Radar Data Conversion & Distribution

The HPx-346 is a low-power hardware unit designed to digitize analog radar signals and distribute them over Ethernet. Supporting over 80 radar models, it offers flexible deployment options in boxed, rackmount, and OEM card configurations. The device consumes less than 5W and features a web-based interface for configuration and monitoring.

HPx-450: High-Resolution Radar Interface Card

The HPx-450 is an XMC-format interface card supporting up to two analog or digital radar streams. It enables high-resolution data capture with PCI Express transfer speeds exceeding 500 MB/sec. The card is compatible with multiple radar signal types, making it an ideal choice for embedded maritime and defense radar applications.

Maritime Display Framework: Custom Radar & Sensor Display Development

Cambridge Pixel’s Maritime Display Framework is a C# .NET-based development package for creating customized maritime radar and sensor displays. It provides essential processing tools, including predictive vector generation, closest point of approach (CPA) calculations, and customizable alarms for collision avoidance and situational awareness.

USV Toolkit: Comprehensive Software & Hardware Integration for Autonomous Vessels

Cambridge Pixel offers a versatile USV Toolkit, enabling uncrewed and autonomous surface vessel developers to integrate advanced sensor processing capabilities. The toolkit includes:

  • A comprehensive software development library
  • Support for over 80 radar models
  • Advanced target tracking and radar control
  • Multi-source track correlation
  • Camera control with automatic tracking
  • Mission data recording and replay
  • Remote monitoring and inspection tools
  • Radar simulation for training and development
  • Protection against GPS/GNSS signal loss

Driving Innovation in Radar & Sensor Processing

With a commitment to delivering state-of-the-art radar processing solutions, Cambridge Pixel continues to support the evolving needs of maritime surveillance, defense, and uncrewed systems.

By providing modular, scalable, and field-proven technologies, the company empowers organizations worldwide with enhanced situational awareness and operational efficiency in complex maritime environments.
