The company’s cutting-edge platforms are engineered to serve the commercial, scientific, and defense sectors, offering unparalleled efficiency and promoting a sustainable future through the use of hydrogen fuel cells and battery technologies.
With a global clientele that includes industry leaders and government agencies such as BAE Systems, the Royal Canadian Navy, and the Schmidt Ocean Institute, Cellula Robotics has established a reputation for excellence and innovation. The company is a proud member of professional organizations including Ocean Networks Canada, the Association of British Columbia Marine Industries, and Canada’s Ocean Supercluster.
In recent years, Cellula Robotics’ achievements range from achieving autonomous surface ship compliance for their extra large AUV to deploying Vigilus, the company’s series of acoustically-meshed environmental sensor nodes for enhancing subsea monitoring and surveillance. The broad range of Cellula Robotics products involved in such achievements can be found below.
Envoy AUV
The Envoy AUV is a highly adaptable platform designed for a variety of mission profiles. Powered by either batteries or hydrogen fuel cells, it can cover up to 2,000 line kilometers in a single journey. Its modular design allows for quick deployment and easy transport via container, trailer, or vessel Launch and Recovery Systems (LARS).
Applications:
- Geophysical and hydrographic surveys
- Pipeline and cable inspections
- Deployment of sensor nodes and smaller AUVs
- Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) and Mine Countermeasures (MCM)
The Envoy’s broad range of payload options includes synthetic aperture sonar, multi-beam echosounders, sub-bottom profilers, cameras and lasers, magnetometers, and environmental and geophysical sensors.
Porter & Guardian XLAUVs
The Porter and Guardian are extra-large AUV platforms capable of remaining submerged for up to 45 days, covering distances up to 5,000 kilometers in a single mission. With a payload capacity of up to 5,000 liters and customizable configurations, they are suited for a range of applications from ultra-long-range surveys to anti-submarine warfare.
Porter Applications:
- Ultra-long-range surveys with advanced sensor suites
- Payload and ROV deployment and support
- Wireless power transfer for subsea assets
Guardian Applications:
- Anti-submarine warfare
- Long-duration loitering
- Deployment of sensor nodes and smaller UUVs
- Surface ISR via retractable sensor mast
Subsea Warden AUV
The Subsea Warden is a hovering AUV designed for precise measurements of vessel magnetic and acoustic signatures. Deployable individually or in fleets, it allows for simultaneous measurements from multiple positions, enhancing accuracy without the need for vessels to traverse fixed ranges.
Its versatile design accommodates various payloads, including acoustic and magnetic measurement tools, non-destructive testing instruments, and manipulators.
Subsea Sentinel Sensor Node
The Subsea Sentinel is a cableless sensor node deployable in underwater arrays for long-term, real-time ocean data collection and transmission. Equipped with onboard processing capabilities, it can detect and track marine mammals and other targets within the water column.
Configurable with passive or active acoustic sensors, echosounders, and environmental sensors, it offers flexible communication options, including long-range acoustic and high-bandwidth optical links. The Subsea Sentinel’s applications include marine life observation, enhanced underwater vehicle navigation, acoustic signature and noise management, and as an extension of cabled observatories.
Cellula Robotics remains dedicated to advancing underwater exploration and security through innovative, sustainable, and efficient AUV and subsea sensor solutions.
